KATHMANDU, April, 24: 28 representatives of various UN agencies have wrapped up their joint 9-day-visit to Nepal on Monday after monitoring the activities being carried out by various UN agencies active in Nepal.

The UN agencies they represent include the UNDP, UNFPA, UNOPS, UNICEF, UN Women and WFP.

Their joint visit was primarily aimed at checking if the activities being carried out by various UN agencies active in Nepal are directed towards the fulfillment of UN’s mandates.

“As members of Executive Board of different UN agencies, we were here to see how these agencies are carrying out their mandates and the direction of the UN,” said H.E. Mr. Walton Alfonso Webson, Head of the Joint Executive Boards’s delegation.

The 28-member high level delegation representing 18 countries also held discussions with the government authorities including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Prakash Saharan Mahat. 

They visited Kailali, Bajhang,Baitadi, Rupandehi, Dang, Banke, Sindhuli, Nuwakot, Kavrepalanchowk and Kathmandu and discussed  local development  priorities with concerned stakeholders such as  women, children and you and  the local communities and authorities.
