Four security chiefs brief PM Dahal about latest security situation

KATHMANDU, April 18: Prime  Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday has held a meeting in Baluwatar , Kathmandu with chiefs of the four security agencies-Nepal Police, Armed  Police Force, Nepal Army and Central Bureau of Investigation -with a view to keeping himself abreast of the latest security situation ahead of the upcoming local polls.

PM Dahal called Nepal Army Chief Rajendra Kshetri, Nepal Police Chief Prakash Aryal, Armed  Police Force Chief Singha Bahadur Shrestha  and Central Bureau of Investigation Chief Dilit Regmi to Baluwatar to discuss the latest security situation of the country in view of the local polls  slated for May 14.

The security chiefs informed Dahal that the security situation was normal, thereby indirectly referring to the fact that the existing security situation poses no threat to the possibility of the local polls being held on the stipulated date.

Dahal instructed them to beef up security by making all possible security arrangements for the upcoming local polls reiterating that the local polls will be held on May 14 under any circumstance.

The meeting comes amid uncertainty over election sparked by Deputy PM Nidhi’s recent tweets.
