SARLAHI, March 30: A girl from Laxipur village of Sarlahi district has been gang raped while she was out of home for a while to answer nature's call.

The 18-year-old who stepped out of her house at 8 pm on Sunday was reportedly raped by Ajya Karmi, 25 and Saroj Raut, 20.
According to police inspector Ramesh Khadka, the duo are already in police custody. Both the men are the victim's neighbors. "Preliminary investigation shows that the girl was forcefully taken to a nearby field and raped," said Khadka.He added that the locals had pressed both the victims and the police to settle the case out of court. The victim's husband and father-in-law live in Janakpur for work. "Medical check up of the victim has confirmed that she was raped. And even the rapists went through check up. We are further investigating the case," said Khadka. Sarlahi is a district where cases of violence against women have been increasing every year.
