Nirmala Panta rape and murder

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: CIB has resumed recording of an 18-year-old for his alleged involvement in the rape and murder of Nirmal Panta, DIG and chief of Central Investigation Bureau, Niraj Shah said. The accused's DNA report is yet to come. The 18-year old's DNA was sent for inspection on Monday.
The CIB's chief has informed the IGP of Police, Sarbendra Khanal about the arrest. Shah, Khanal and the Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa along with other senior officials from the ministry meeting at the Minister's office to get an update on the Nirmala's rape and murder mystery.
Upon getting information, the IGP had gone to the CIB's office and sat for hours discussing about the accused. On July 27, the accused had gone to India to visit his maternal home and then returned.
The accused is one of the seven persons who was arrested by the CIB last week. Six of the other accused were released yesterday.
