KATHMANDU, Aug 20: Seventeen more traffic policemen at the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division in Kathmandu contracted novel coronavirus disease on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police at the Division, Bamdev Gautam, told Republica that 17 traffic police personnel tested positive for coronavirus during tests conducted at the Nepal Police Hospital in Maharagunj this afternoon.
Those traffic police cops who contracted the virus will be undergoing treatment at the APF Hospital in Balambu.
Earlier, 18 police personnel had tested positive for COVID-19 inside the Kathmandu Valley.
"As of today, 35 traffic police personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Valley," Gautam added.
