KANCHANPUR, June 7: Seventeen dalit families who had been living at Sundarpur area of Suda VDC of Kanchanpur district for the past six years have been driven out from the village.

After being displaced from the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve, they had been living here making huts in the land provided by the Reserve itself.

It is said they were forced to leave the village after some locals including Bhoj Raj Baija demolished their huts claiming their ownership over the land.

The victims have been living under the open sky near the District Administration Office for the past three days demanding justice, it is learnt.
