Two people died on the spot while another died on the way to hospital, Traffic Police Office-Mugling said. Among the injured is the truck driver. The injured are undergoing treatment at different clinics in Chitwan.[break]
The deceased are 12-year-old Mini Panthi and Sushila Acharya of Birgunj, Parsa and Ramu of Nijgadh, Bara. Ramu is the helper in the truck.
The truck [registration plate number Na 2 Kha 6221] was going towards Kathmandu from Birgunj at the time of the accident which occurred at 4 a.m. at Lewatar, Darechowk VDC-3.
Meanwhile, two girls died due to drowning in the Rapti River at Jagatpur in west Chitwan last evening. The deceased are nine-year-old Batuli Rai and 17-year-old Sita Bhujel of Jagatpur VDC-6. Another girl, Bhawana Tamang has been injured.
