Police said of the injured, the condition of three passengers (Bednath Yadav of Sarlahi, Surendra Sahani of Dhanusha and Hari Prasad Aryal of Chitwan) is critical. All the injured are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.

The tusker belonging to Chitwal Jungle Lodge attacked Majhi, who works for the hotel as boat rider, while he was about to leave for boating and trampled him to death.
