Govt agrees for Industrial Security Force

KATHMANDU, March 30: The government has agreed in principle to form Industrial Security Force on Tuesday.



The cabinet meeting held in the afternoon discussed the issue and agreed, in principle, to provide the state security for industries by mobilizing Armed Police Force (APF).[break]



The industrial sector has long demanded the force. They have also demanded uninterrupted power supply.



The cabinet meeting also decided to provide diesel at the buying cost for private sector to operate generators. The meeting also decided that the state will buy exceeds electricity if the private sector operate generator of more than 50MW capacity.



Before the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal met the high- level delegation of the FNCCI and NCC at the presence of finance, home, energy, industry, commerce and supplies ministers and secretaries.



PM Nepal assured the delegation of formation of the industrial security force and making of police administration more active with resources immediately.



The prime minister directed the ministers to contribute in fulfilling the demands of the industries to resolve problems in the sector by lowering load shedding hours, forming investment board and establishing an international level exhibition hall.



The government has also declared 16 people killed during the Madhesh Movement martyrs. Twenty-four other killed during the movement were already declared martyrs.
