CHAUTARA, July 6: A sudden flood triggered by the continuous rain last night in Bhoteskoshi River has swept away 15 houses at Tatopani area and damaged the Barhabise-Tatopani road section.
Similarly, the floodwaters swept away two tippers parked in a yard of Liping-based customs office and a bally bridge over it constructed by the mid Bhotekoshi Project, as updated by Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchowk Gokarnamani Duwadi.
The floodwaters eroded 50 meters road segment at Jambu along the Barhabise-Tatopani route and caused landslides in its multiple sections.
Incessant rain in Tatopani area since last night and in the neighboring Tibet for the past few days might have caused a deadly flood in the river, Sindhupalchowk's CDO said.
However, no human casualty has so far been reported and details of the losses are awaited. Though waters level in the river has relatively decreased, it is flowing at 1.5 meters higher level than the normal days, CDO Duwadi said. RSS
