15.1 MW Mid Modi gets production license

Kathmandu, June 24: The government has granted a license of production to the Mid-Modi Hydropower Project with a capacity of generating 15.1 megawatts of electricity.

The project is based in Parbat district. According to Communications Officer with the Department of Electricity, Gokarnaraj Pantha, the Middle Hydro Power is awarded the license for constructing the project which is expected to be completed within the next five years.[break]



The construction cost of the project is 2.3 billion rupees. The project is based on the ´Run of the River´ nature. This is the fourth hydropower project going to be constructed in the Modi River.



Meanwhile, the government has granted a license of survey for the 30-megawatt Likhu Khola Hydropower Project which is confirmed to be located in the border of Ramechhap and Solukhumbu districts. The PK Hydropower Company is awarded the survey license for a year, Communications Officer Pantha said.
