Foreign Minister NP Saud requests Qatar govt to help release Bipin Joshi

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: Foreign Minister NP Saud has again requested the Government of Qatar to initiate dialogue with Hamas for the release of Bipin Joshi from Kanchanpur, Nepal, whose condition is unknown in Israel.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Saud asked Qatar's Ambassador to Nepal, Mishal Mohammad Al Ansari, to take all measures for the release of Joshi, who is said to be under the control of Hamas.

In response, Ambassador Ansari said that the Qatar government is taking steps to stop the renewed war between Israel and Hamas.

He also replied that efforts are ongoing for the release of the abductees including Nepali student Joshi.

“The war between Israel and Hamas has started again. The situation is complicated. However, efforts are being made for another ceasefire," said Ambassador Ansari with Foreign Minister Saud, "We are also trying to release the prisoners."

Earlier, Minister Saud had asked Qatar's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Soltan bin Saad Al-Mukhari, to take initiatives for Joshi's release on November 24.

Similarly, on November 23, he called Israeli ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Godar, to the ministry and talked about Joshi's release.

The issue of Joshi's release will be seriously raised during the high-level meeting that Foreign Minister Saud will take part in the Doha 21st Forum, which is going to start from December 10 in Qatar.

In the meeting held at the Ministry on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Saud and Qatar Ambassador Ansari discussed the Doha Forum visit, high-level meetings in Qatar, etc.
