KATHMANDU, May 25: The Line Ministry Budget Information System (LMBIS) has been closed during the preparation of the budget for the upcoming financial year 2023/24.

According to the Ministry of Finance, this system has been closed from May 25 to May 30 by a secretary-level decision. The government will announce the budget for the next financial year 2023/24 in the Federal Parliament on May 29.
LMBIS is a system that has been developed to facilitate the preparation of all the programs decided to be implemented from government sources and the necessary budget allocation for that, while being attached to the annual budget system. According to the ministry, the system had to be shut down during this period as the new budget had to be prepared.
