KATHMANDU: Madhesi leaders of various mainstream parties formed on Friday a new pro-Hindu political party, led by a senior leader of Terai-Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), in Kathmandu. This was announced at a special function in the capital. Led by TMDP´s organization department chief Ram Chandra Raya, the newly formed Nepali Janata Party has the slogan "Federal Democratic Hindu Republic of Nepal".
Other members of the party are TMDP´s Amresh Narayan Jha and Ram Prabesh Baitha; Sadbhavana Party (SP)´s Sitaram Sah; CPN-UML´s Akhileshwor Prasad Singh and Dhruva Raj Luitel; and Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF)´s Binda Raya.
The new party said though they share the ideological views of Indian Hindu nationalist parties, they don´t have contacts with them.
