KATHMANDU, Feb 5: A 14-member Nepali National cricket team has been declared for the ICC World Cricket League matches against Kenya.
The selection committee headed by ICC-Asia's Development Officer Venkatapathy Raju, Head Coach Jagat Tamatta and Captain Paras Khadka on Sunday declared the squad.
Besides Skipper Khadka, Gyanendra Malla (Vice Captain), Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Prasad Gauchan, Basant Regmi and Sompal Kami are the member of the squad. Likewise, the Nepal team includes Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Mahaboob Alam, Md. Arif Sheikh, Sunil Dhamala and Dipendra Singh Airee.

The selection committee named Rajesh Pulami Magar, Avinash Karn, Bhuwan Karki and Dilip Nath as the four reserve players.
Nepal is taking on Kenya on March 11 and March 13 at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur under the World Cricket League.
After playing eight matches, Nepal stands sixth in the standings with six points. Nepal had defeated Namibia in both matches played at the TU grounds while lost one and won one in its away match against the Netherlands. Similarly, Nepal faced defeats in both legs against Scotland and Papua New Guinea.
Kenya is one spot ahead of Nepal in the standings with eight points. Kenya has won four and lost as many matches. The tournament being played in double round robin format features eight teams.
The top four finishers at the end of the contest will earn ticket for 2019 ICC World Cup Qualifiers.
