KATHMANDU, Dec 8: A committee has been formed to investigate the recovery of 14 kg of gold at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
The committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Customs Officer Mani Ram Poudel.
The committee consists of Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Prakash Subedi, Customs Officer Prakash Niroula, Dilli Prasad Sharma and Section Officer Manju Thapa.
About 14 kg of gold was recovered from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday night. According to the customs office, two persons were also arrested along with the gold.
According to the Customs Office, Chandra Ghale and Min Bahadur Ghale of Gorkha were arrested while trying to smuggle the gold out of the airport. Chandra Ghale, arriving in Kathmandu carrying the gold on a Fly Dubai flight (FZ 573) on Thursday night, was taken into custody at 11:40 PM.
