PANCHTHAR, Nov 10: The 132th* Falgunanda Jayanti (birth annivarsary) is being observed by organizing various programs in the eastern part of Nepal on Thursday.
The 16th national hero of Nepal and social reformer Falgunanda is revered as a pious leader for his invaluable contribution to the development of the Mundhum - a religious scripture and folklore of the Kirant community.
Born in 1942 BS, Falgunanda's birth annivarsary is being celebrated with gusto in various places including Lebrekuti, Silauti of Panchthar, Larumba of Ilam, Damak of Jhapa, Atharai of Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Taplejung.

People are sharing greetings on social media on the occasion of Falgunanda Jayanti.
The Nepal government had declared him as the 16th national hero (Rastriya Vibhuti) of Nepal in 2066 BS.
He passed away at the age of 66 in 2005 BS in Imbung of Panchthar district.
The government has granted holiday to the Kirant people today.
