BUSINESS BRIEFS: Toshiba's new slim notebooks

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Two new Toshiba slim notebooks have been released in Kathmandu.



According to a statement from Toshiba, the two notebooks of the Slim Series Portégé T110 and T130 are less than an inch thin and their batteries allow them to be used for around 11 hours and weigh around 1.58kg. Both models come with licensed Windows7 operating system. [break]



The statement further says the new models run on ´power-efficient Intel® ultra-low voltage processors, and their hard drives are protected with 3D motion sensors´. “The new ultra-thin Slim series Notebook PCs have the performance, flexibility and functionality that consumers have come to expect from standard-sized Notebook PCs, yet in a highly portable package,” it reads.



Although the notebooks do not have optical drives, the vendor has offered a Samsung external DVD/RW worth Rs 5,500 free with every purchase.
