Late Shrestha be declared martyr: Deuba

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba demanded that the founding Inspector General of Armed Police Force (APF) late Krishna Mohan Shrestha and his wife Nudup be declared martyrs. The Shrestha couple was assassinated by Maoists seven years ago.



Addressing the seventh Memorial Day function organized by Krishna Mohan-Nudup Memorial Foundation here on Tuesday, Deuba said he would talk to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal in this regard.



Meanwhile, the foundation awarded human right activist Gopal Krishna Shivakoti and journalist Tika Bista with Krishna Mohan-Nudup Peace Prize for the year 2066 BS.
