Four Nepali nationals killed in a bus accident in India

NEPALGUNJ, Sept 3: Four Nepali nationals were killed when a bus carrying passengers from Rupaidiha to Goa in India met with an accident. The accident took place around 3:30AM on Saturday near Mahangupur village of Ramnagar police station area in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Bahraich journalist Nabi Ahmed informed Republica that in the accident Prem Tharu, son of Fatte Tharu, resident of Ward No 5 of Banke, Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality, Sheetal Tharu, son of Mukeru Tharu, and Chakra Bahadur Oli, son of Resham Bahadur Oli of Tulsipur sub-metropolis in Dang died in the accident. The identity of another person is yet to be revealed. All of them died on the spot.

Two dozen passengers were injured in the accident. According to the Indian police, the condition of six of the injured is serious. The people with minor injuries have been admitted to Barabanki District Hospital for treatment, while the six seriously injured have been referred to the Trauma Center in Lucknow. There were 150 passengers on board on the double decker bus (UP 93 B.T 9944).

All the passengers on the bus were Nepali nationals. They were going to India for work. According to the Indian police, the bus, which was stopped due to a punctured tire, was hit from behind by a truck coming from the same direction as it was moving at high speed.
