13 children rescued from Indo-Nepal border

BIRGUNJ, March 9: The Armed Police Force (APF) in the Nepal-India border rescued 13 children, who were being taken to India illegally through Birgunj.



The customs revenue patrolling team of the APF rescued the children aged 10 to 12 years on Friday.



Police also arrested four Nepali youths --- Yubak Thing and Sherpa Lama of Raigaun VDC Ward 9 of Makawanpur, Durga Lopchan of Dumarwana VDC Ward No. 6 of Bara, and Dev Karsang of Rangpur VDC No. 5 of Rautahat districts in connection with their involvement in the incident, said APF Border Security Office, Parsa.



The police handed over the children rescued from the border to their respective guardians this morning, said Nagendra Thapa, APF Parsa district chief.
