KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The governments of Japan and Australia have opened their borders for international students wanting to pursue higher education, according to the Education Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN).

Speaking at a press conference organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday, ECAN Chairman Prakash Pandey said that he had called a press meet to spread awareness about the precautions that need to be followed while traveling abroad. Stating that students will have to stay in quarantine upon reaching Australia except for three cities, he urged the students to consult with agencies before leaving for abroad.

While the government of Japan opened its border a few days ago, international students will now be able to travel to Australia from December 1. Chairman Pandey said that an additional screening certificate is needed for students traveling to Japan and urged them to be aware and not to hurry in booking appointments and seats.
