11th SAG in 2010

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: The 11th South Asian Games (SAG) will be held in January, 2010 in Bangladesh. A meeting of the South Asian Olympic Committee helt at Hotel Soaltee Monday decided to hold the games in Dhaka from January 29 to February 8, 2010.



The meeting also decided to add eight games for the 11th edition - judo, cycling, badminton, volleyball, basketball, cricket, golf and wrestling. According to Nepal Olympic Committee Chairman Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan, the 11th SAG will now have competitions in 24 different events.



Earlier, a meeting of the South Asian Olympic Committee held in Bangladesh on February 22, 2008 had decided to organize the games in Dhaka in November-December, 2008. The event, however, had to be postponed because of the general election in Bangladesh.
