Defense Minister Bidya Bhandari and State Minister for Science and Technology Indra Dhungel, Health Minister Uma Kanta Chaudhary and Commerce Minister Rajendra Mahato will not be attending the meet for health and other reasons.
The ministers are scheduled to stay overnight at Lukla and fly to Kalapatthar on Friday. A press meet is scheduled at 10.30 a.m. at Syangboche. Five cabinet secretariat staff and 10 journalists will also fly to Kalapatthar.
A rescue team led by Maya Gurung and Usha Bista will accompany them along with a team of four doctors, including one Nepal Army doctor.
At the arrival, the VIPs were given a warm welcome by the locals of Lukla where security was tightened.
Over 70 journalists who were earlier planned to be hosted at Lukla have been shifted to Namche.
