Dhanbir Pun of Chimkhola VDC-4 relived the mythical story in Shiv Sharma and Goma in Swoatthani Bratakatha in which Shiv Sharma marries seven-year-old Goma and becomes father at the age of 80.
Sandevi (40), Dhanbir’s wife, gave birth to Sam Bahadur in October last.
Sam Bahadur’s birth was registered in the VDC yesterday. It was eighth offspring of Dhanbir and fourth of Sandevi.
It was Dhanbir’s third marriage after his first and second wives died a few years ago. Foe Sandevi, it was second marriage. Dhanbir’s eldest son is 59 years old.
Dhanbir said he wished to have a son as there is no one to look after him at old age, as his grown up brood did not take care of him. Dhanbir, a former British Gurkha, was also a teacher for 26 years at a local school.
