The international inter-club invitational football tournament will feature 12 teams in total including A division clubs, a team each from eastern and western regions and the host team. [break]
The tournament will be organized with the slogan, ´Let´s cooperate for sports development and develop Pokhara as sports tourism city.´ The winner and runner up will be awarded with attractive cash prizes. But the amount of cash prizes have not been disclosed yet.
According to organizer, the best player of the tournament will be awarded with Yamaha motorbike while highest scorer, best coach, striker, midfielder, defender and goalkeeper will also be awarded with cash prizes and trophies. The man-of-the-match of each match will also be rewarded.
According to Bikram Thakali, the president of organizer Sahara Club, the event will be helpful in producing new and talented players.
"The event will be helpful for promoting internal and external tourism in Pokhara as well as development of football," Thakali said, adding that the tournament was also associated with the pride of whole Kaski district.
The event organized for the first time in 2058 BS was named Caravan Gold Cup and the following year it was renamed Aaha Gold Cup.
