It has urged the UN´s political mission to take up the recent killing of NTD Taplejung member Chandra Prakash Ramahangram by the Maoists and the bid on the life of another member, Sunder Man Thing, in Lalitpur.
In a memorandum addressed to UNMIN chief Karin Landgren on Thursday, NTD has alleged that many of the fighters involved in these activities were from cantonments monitored by UNMIN.

“… we demand that all these Maoist political cadres be immediately removed from the cantonments and the camps closed down,” NTD said in the memorandum signed by its vice president, Udaya Shumsher Rana.
NTD has also accused UNMIN of turning a blind eye to the activities of the Maoists that are against the spirit of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
NTD has sent a copy of the memorandum to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, urging the government to take the issue seriously.
