A fugitive convicted of murdering a 10 – year – old girl from Matena of Bhimdatta municipality – 9 was arrested from Haryana of India.
Hira Singh Airi, 30, who killed Shital Bista by strangling her to death on August 6, was arrested from India.
Police arrest murderer of 14-years girl after six years
A police team from District Police Office, Kanchanpur led by Sub Inspector, Mahadev Bhatta, took under control Airi from a room rented by his relatives in Haryana.
Airi has confessed to killing the girl by strangling her. He was made public on Thursday afternoon amidst a press conference held at the District Police Office.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Prakash Bahadur Chand, said Airi, who was drunk at the time of murder, ran away after throwing the girl's dead body in the nearby river. The police broadened its investigation after an autopsy report and an inquest.
