Momotaru
Your first impression of Momotaru may be one of uncertainty. Is it too small, you may wonder, however, don't fret. They have two separate rooms with many seats and moreover, their Japanese dishes are worth sharing tables for (if it comes down to that). Their pork noodle soup, pork momo soup and veggie tempura have garnered quite a loyal clientele.

They have managed to bring a little of Korea to the busy streets of Thamel. Even though the restaurant is run by Nepalis who once used worked in Korea, it's apparent that the folks there learned a lot about Korean flavors because their dishes are always just right. The Kimchi, in particular, is the best in town. Plus, you can always choose to lounge in their courtyard garden.
DanRan
DanRan in Jawlakhel is where most Japanese expats go to when they are in the mood for a taste of food that reminds them of home. Do we need more proof of the authenticity of their flavors? We think not. Further, here you will also get so many varieties of Sake that you won't know which to choose.
