However, Naimuddin Miya, Jali Muddin Miya, Hadish Hussain, Saddam Hussain, Nasal Miya, Nasurdin Miya of Sonapur-7, and Kabir Miya, Isail Miya and other two from Itahari-9 have fallen ill due to continuous exposure to harmful chemicals in the factory. Relatives said their meager income is hardly enough to make ends meet.
“Almost half of them haven´t been able to work due to illness,” Mohammad Sakil Miya, father of Ishrafil Miya said. According to him, the youths have been pleading their relatives to assist their return home. “My son calls me every day and asks me to help him return home,” Mohammad said.
Each youth had paid 85,000 rupees to fly to Malaysia “Upon knowing the plight of my two sons, I can´t even eat and sleep. Instead of harming his body, I wish they came home as early as possible,” Farmud, father of Kabir said.
The relatives of the youths have demanded that the manpower company bring the youths back to Nepal and compensate them.
Hemanta Sitaula, the owner of the manpower company, said they have initiated the process to facilitate their return.
