KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Out of around 84,000 graduates under the Tribhuvan University (TU) campuses across the country, about 10,000 graduates will take part in the convocation ceremony to be held on TU campus in Kirtipur on December 31.
According to TU, there are a total of some 84,000 graduates including Ph.D., MPhil, master's and bachelor's degree holders this year. “Of the total 84,000 graduates, only 10,000 have registered their names to participate in the convocation program,” said Krishna Bastakoti, information officer at the TU.
TU holds 44th convocation
Established in 1959, TU has now altogether 367,427 students pursuing higher education. TU has 1,146 colleges including 60 constituent colleges across the country.
Prime Minister KP Oli is the chancellor of TU while education minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel is the pro-chancellor.
Meanwhile, Prof Dr. Mahendra P Lama, former vice-chancellor of Sikkim University, will attend the TU convocation day function as a special guest. Lama was one of the members of the Eminent Persons Group on Nepal-India Relations (EPG-NIR).
