KATHMANDU: At least one person died and 91 others sustained injuries when one of three buses boarded by a group of picnic-goers rammed into another bus, while returning home from Gokarna in the outskirts of the capital, Saturday evening.
According to Kantipur TV, the picnic-goers were from Mahadev Shakti Cooperatives Limited in Kirtipur.
The injured are being treated at the Nepal Medical College at Attarkhel, Jorpati. The accident took place after brakes of one of the buses failed and rammed into another bus that WAS parked ahead of it. Both the buses then fell on the ground. The deceased woman is a staff of the Cooperatives.
Local youths and police are involved in the rescue.
