1,573 cases, 10 fatalities and 885 recoveries linked to COVID-19 recorded in past one day

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday said that 1,573 new cases, 10 more fatalities and 885 recoveries linked to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday said that 1,573 new cases, 10 more fatalities and 885 recoveries linked to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.


At a virtual daily media briefing, Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the health ministry, said that 10,123 PCR tests were conducted at various laboratories across the country in the past one day.


“With 1,573 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, the country’s coronavirus case tally has risen to 73,394,” Spokesperson Gautam said.


The Kathmandu Valley, which has been seeing 500 plus cases everyday in recent months, recorded 809 coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, according to Gautam.


There are currently 19,019 active cases of coronavirus in Nepal.


As 885 COVID-19 patients recovered from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the country’s COVID-19 recovery tally soared to 53,898 on Sunday.

At least 10 coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in the past one day, taking the country’s deaths linked to coronavirus to 477, Spokesperson Gautam said.


As many as 6,281 people are currently in home quarantine, according to him. Likewise, 8,321 persons are at institutional isolation facilities across the country.
