1,280 packets of cigarettes being illegally transported to India seized from Jamunaha

KATHMANDU, April 17: The police have seized cigarettes being illegally transported to India from Banke's Jamunaha border crossing.


The police seized 1,280 packets of Khukuri cigarettes worth about Rs 158,720 from Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-15, Jamunaha.

The police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Jamunaha, seized the cigarettes while they were being illegally transported to India.


The District Police Office, Banke, has said that three individuals involved in transporting cigarettes were also arrested.


The detained individuals, along with the seized cigarettes, have been handed over to the customs office for further investigation.
