The office said 7,34 women have been infected with HIV/AIDS. The highest number of HIV/AIDS infected population is from the 30-39 age group. A total of 4,90 persons are living with HIV/AIDS from this age group. [break]
Similarly, the number of children infected with HIV/AIDS is 78, said supervisor at the office, Jhapat Dhungana.
According to Dhungana, among the HIV/AIDS infected, people of Dalit communities and foreign migrant workers from rural areas are highest in number.
In the district, six different VCT centers have been established with the initiative of the District Public Health Office for the HIV/AIDS test.
