1,000 security personnel to be mobilized in Bisket Jatra

BHAKTAPUR , April 1: Preparation for Bisket Jatra – the globally known festival which the locals of Bhaktapur mark at the start of Nepali New Year – has been intensified. 

As part of the preparation, the construction of 35-feet high wooden chariot of Bhairabnath has begun while the chariot of Bhadrakali was already built. 

The Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Range is set to mobilize 1,000 security personnel to make the fair peaceful. Superintendant of Police (SP) Kiran Rana shared that over 1,000 security personnel including Nepal police and Armed Police Force would be mobilized for maintaining law and order. He further informed that the military would also be mobilized as and when needed. 

Unruly people can easily be identified as light and CC Camera would be installed in thoroughfares, he said, adding that stern action would be taken against the miscreants. 

Plain clothes security personnel would also be mobilized in keeping with security sensitivities in the crowd, SP Rana shared. RSS
