Youth missing while rafting in Trishuli

CHITWAN, Feb 17: Search for a man who went missing after his raft overturned in Trishuli River has begun early Wednesday morning.

Bibek Baniya, 24, of Bharatpur municipality-4 went missing after he reportedly hit a tree branch while rafting in the river at Kalibas VDC of Chitwan on Tuesday evening.

Of the 12 persons onboard the raft, 11 managed to swim to safety, according to SP at the Border Security Force, Aanptari, Bidur Khadka.
The incident took place at around 5:00 pm in the evening.

However, police was informed about it only two hours later at around 7:00 pm, forcing the search operation for morning, police said.

Gotakhor from the Disaster Management Training Centre of the Armed Police Force in Kurintar are involved in the search, SP Khadka said. RSS
