NC lawmaker Yadav files nomination for Deputy Speaker
Earlier, a meeting of the seven-party alliance unanimously endorsed Yadav as its joint candidate, citing the need to strengthen stability, cooperation and impartial parliamentary practice in the Assembly.
The Speaker’s post had remained vacant following the removal of former Speaker Ramchandra Mandal, affecting the Assembly’s routine business. With a new Speaker set to be elected, lawmakers expect parliamentary proceedings to return to normal.
With the seven-party alliance commanding a clear majority in the Assembly, his election is almost certain.
According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the voting process to elect the Speaker will proceed as per the announced schedule following the completion of nominations.
