Wu Chuntai proposed as new Chinese envoy to Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The government of China has proposed Deputy Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of the People´s Republic of China, Wu Chuntai to the post of new ambassador of Nepal.



Beijing proposed the new ambassador by recalling ambassador Yang Houlan before expiry of his three-year term.[break]



The name will be presented at the office of the President this week for approval said, Dr. Niranjanman Singh Basnyat of the Department of Protocol.



A graduate, who joined Chinese Foreign Service 27 years ago, Ambassador Wu has already served in Turkey, UK and Northern Ireland in London.

He has already served as the first secretary of the diplomatic mission in Hong Kong besides in north Asian and American departments of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.



Ambassador Yang who prepares to return within February 28 after 20 months in office, has already paid farewell call on party leaders, diplomatic community and international development partners.
