Madhesi leaders call on Chinese envoy Wu Chuntai

KATHMANDU, March 18:  Agitating Madhesi leaders have called on Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai a head of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming state visit to China on Friday.



In a bid to draw the attention of Chinese Embassy in Nepal regarding the demands of the ongoing  Madhes protest and  human rights violation during the Madhes protest,  the UDMF leaders also handed over a 11-point memorandum to envoy Wu on the occasion, said Manish Suman, a Sadbhawana Party leader.

In response, envoy said the UDMF leaders that embassy is well aware of the UDMF’s demands and told the Madhesi leaders that he will appraise the matters to the Chinese government.


During the meeting, Chinese envoy stressed on the need of improving strong ties between  the people of two countries except the bilateral ties between the two governments.

Various top Madhesi leaders including Rajkishor Yadav, Anil Jha, Sarbendra Nath Shukla, Rajendra Shrestha, among others were present at the meeting.
