Woman dies aboard flight while being airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment

A woman died aboard a flight on Tuesday while being airlifted to Kathmandu for medical treatment from Simara Airport.

KATHMANDU, May 21: A woman died aboard a flight on Tuesday while being airlifted to Kathmandu for medical treatment from Simara Airport.



The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Raj Kumari Chaudhary of Phatuwa, Bijaypur Municipality-11 in Rautahat. According to her husband, Jung Bahadur Chaudhary, she was being flown to the capital for further medical care when she lost consciousness mid-flight.

Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohora of the Kathmandu District Police Office said Chaudhary was rushed to KMC Hospital upon landing, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.


Her body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for post-mortem as part of the ongoing police investigation.
