KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The western parts of Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces are currently under the influence of westerly winds, while the remaining areas are experiencing a weak influence of monsoon winds, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in other hilly regions this afternoon, while the Tarai region will have partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in the hilly and Tarai areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at a few places in the hilly regions and one or two places in the Tarai regions of the remaining provinces, the MFD reported.
By nightfall, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and partly cloudy in the Tarai region. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at one or two places in the Tarai regions of the remaining provinces, according to the MFD.
