KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Chairman of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Upendra Yadav has warned that they would block both the southern and northern custom points unless the government addresses their demands.

Speaking at an interaction organized by the Reporters Club Nepal on Thursday, Yadav said this is a good opportunity for the government to sort out the issue but the state is misusing it.

“If the state keeps on neglecting our demand, we will block both the southern and northern checkpoints in our coming protests,” warned Yadav.

Yadav warned that they are making preparations to announce stronger protests nationwide after reviewing the previous movements and added that the coming movement will be focused in Kathmandu.

“The protest is on. We have only changed its form – not its essence. The government suppressed our movement saying that it is being run at the behest of the external power. But it is a nationalistic movement,” said Yadav.

It is an “orchestrated plan” to form a high level political mechanism to delineate federal provinces under the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa, who is himself against the federalism.

Yadav clarified that a conducive environment will be created only when the government will revise the constitution in line with the state restructuring commission, interim constitution and 11-point demand floated by our alliance.
