KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and patron of Ujyalo Party Nepal, Kulman Ghising, has said his team has entered politics with a clear resolve to change the country, not to follow old political habits.
Addressing a district-level party gathering in Chitwan on Saturday, Minister Ghising said their goal is not to become rulers but to serve the people. He said they have stepped into politics as a means to bring change, not as an end in itself.
Change of Guard and OBOR
Ghising, who also holds responsibility for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Urban Development, pointed to the existing political culture and argued that politics and leadership are two different things.
“We have not come to do politics, we have come to change the country. We have chosen this path only to transform the nation,” he said during his address.
He stressed that politics is merely a tool for national change and said development is impossible without good governance and prosperity. According to him, power and position should be seen as opportunities to serve, not instruments to dominate.
“We are here to provide leadership for change,” Ghising said. “We have not come to rule the country; we have come to serve ordinary Nepalis.”
He warned that the country cannot move forward without good governance and prosperity and urged party members to actively engage in the campaign of nation building.
