KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Prime Minister Madhav Nepal on Wednesday urged visiting Bhutanese Economic Affair Minister Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk to seek permanent solution to the problem of Bhutanese refugees.

During a meeting with the Bhutanese minister at Baluwatar, the PM said resettlement of the refugees in third country would not yield fruitful results. He said that the refugees should be allowed to return home instead.

In response, Wangchuk said he would talk to his prime minister about the issue once he returns home. Wangchuk also handed an invitation Nepal to attend the 16th SAARC summit scheduled for April 28-29 in Thimpu.
