KATHMANDU, April 28: In the initial tally of votes from the by-election in Ilam-2, the Nepali Congress (NC) candidate has taken the lead.
NC candidate Dambar Khadka has secured a lead with 657 votes, followed closely by Suhang Nemwang of CPN-UML with 534 votes.

Independent candidate Dakendra Thegim has secured 187 votes, while Milan Limbu of the Rastriya Swatantra Party secured fourth place with 115 votes.
