KATHMANDU, Oct 18: A total of 21 people were injured in a road accident at Gaighat in Bharatpur Metropolitan City–29, Chitwan, along the Muglin–Narayangadh road section.
According to the District Police Office (DPO), Chitwan, the accident occurred at around 7:15 AM when seven vehicles collided with each other.

The collision took place when a truck (Na 8 Kha 6629) heading toward Narayangadh from Muglin and a bus (Ba 4 Kha 7420) traveling in the opposite direction crashed at Gaighat.
Following the collision, other vehicles moving in a convoy — a trailer (Na 7 Kha 9607), an electric microbus (Ba Pra 06-001 Ga 0484), another bus (Ga 2 Kha 1626), a Bolero (Na 3 Cha 3256), and a car (Ba A Ba 8470) — also collided, according to the DPO, Chitwan.
The injured have been taken to various hospitals in Bharatpur for treatment. So far, 13 have been admitted to National City Hospital, four to New Medical College, and four to Janata Care Hospital, police said.
The number of injured may go up as more details emerge, said DSP Govinda Puri, Chief of the DPO, Chitwan. The Muglin–Narayangadh road section remains completely blocked at present.
