KATHMANDU, April 22: The CPN-UML is holding a special program today (Tuesday) to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).
Dr Bhishma Adhikari, Secretary at the UML Central Office, said the party is hosting the event this afternoon at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi.

The party has decided to honor seven distinguished individuals as "Communist Warriors" for their significant contributions to the development and expansion of the Nepali communist movement.
The honorees include Lal Bahadur Bishwakarma (Kanchanpur), Ratna Sharma Neupane, Bachaspati Devkota (Gorkha), Shanta Manavi (Kathmandu), Satyanarayan Mandal (Saptari), Shobharam Basnet (Dang), and Haricharan Shivakoti (Jhapa).
The party will also unveil a book titled ‘Shelter’ during the event. The book features memoirs of 34 leaders and cadres who played key roles in forming the then CPN-ML and the Coordination Center.
