"We have done our best to make the rally a success," said Brikhesh Chandra Lal, a member of the publicity committee for the mass gathering, at a press conference in Singh Durbar Friday afternoon.
Lal said the Madhesi parties just want to deliver a message that a non-federalist constitution will not be acceptable to them.
"If any force tries to hatch conspiracy against such a constitution, we will take to the streets."
General Secretary of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Republican (MPRF-R) Atmaram Sah touted the mass gathering as the Madhesi alliance´s "Kathmandu Declaration".
"So far, we raised our concerns from Madhes, but this time we are declaring our stance from the capital city," added Sah.
He claimed that the rally is not of Madhesi people alone but all pro-federalism forces of the country.
Madhesi leaders have been expressing suspicion that Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and a ´group´ within UCPN (Maoist) are "conspiring" to promulgate new constitution without deciding about federalism.
According to Lal, the chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, MPRF-Republican Acting Chairman Rajkishor Yadav, Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Chairman of TMDP-Nepal Mahendra Yadav and Sadbhavana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato will address the mass gathering.
The Madhesi alliance has also invited leaders various indigenous communities to express solidarity with the rally.
Lal said that indigenous leaders Parshuram Tamang, Malla K Sundar, Surendra Chaudhari and Chandra Kant Raut, a Non-resident Madhesi, will also address the rally.
The Madhesi leaders said that around 25,000 peoples will participate in the rally.
"We are not inviting leaders and cadres from outside the Kathmandu Valley," Sah said.
