The rally has been organized after a six-month-long protest waged by the Madhes-based parties.The rally which started from Ghantaghar passed through the municipality before converging into a corner meet.
"Our protest has not ended. It has just changed its form - not its essence," Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Parsa Chairman Pradip Yadav told Republica Online.
Yadav added that their protest will continue until two provinces are ensured in the Tarai and the government guarantees equal opportunity for the Madhesi people.
There are now seven political parties in the UDMF after three other Madhes-based parties joined the allinace recently.
FSFN Central Chairman Lal Babu Raut, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Parsa Chairman Prem Chandra Kushwaha, among others, participated in the rally.
